Ilex meserveae came to be after years of determination to produce a beautiful cultivar that resembles the sought-after English Holly but has the cold-hardiness of other species.

With gorgeous, serrated, dark blue-green foliage, wine-colored stems, and vibrant red berries abound, 'Royal Family' is a must for the garden. 'Royal Family' guarantees both a male and female plant so you can enjoy the plant's delightful, ornamental berries EVERY year. 'Blue Prince' serves as the pollinator, and 'Blue Princess' throws out a stunning spray of pea-sized red berries that are a hallmark of Holly plants.
