If you’re obsessed with dark, dramatic, mystical plants, this award-winning dahlia is going to blow you away! Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ is an iconic Honka/orchid-style dahlia famous for its dark, starburst-shaped blooms. Featuring pointed, rolled petals in a velvety, near-black shade of deep chocolate-burgundy with a golden-yellow center. Open centers make this a top-tier landing pad for bumblebees, butterflies, and native pollinators all summer long!

• LIGHT: Full sun; partial sun
• WATER: Water deeply and thoroughly when soil begins to dry
• ZONE: Zones 8–11 (In Zones 3–7, dig tubers up after the first light frost and store indoors over winter)
• SIZE: 3 – 3.5 feet tall (A sturdy, medium grower; lightweight staking recommended)
• GROOVY TIP: Dark flowers pop best when contrasted against bright foliage! Plant ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ next to chartreuse perennials, silvery foliage like dusty miller, or bright colored dahlias, like Dahlia 'sunny boy' to make those dark starburst petals truly stand out.
