The parent plant for this cultivated variety is native to the moist, dewey forest areas of Japan–it also nestles perfectly on the wet, rocky cliffs of the region, enveloping any area that it covers in the soft glow and textural quality of its foliage.

'All Gold' forms covetous clumps of wispy, graceful foliage through underground rhizomes, which spread slowly over time. Once mature, you'll have mounds of picturesque foliage that works well in Japanese gardens, shade gardens, edging, and even container planting! 'All Gold' is great to pair with large-leaved plants with deep colors–like Japanese Painted Ferns–to take advantage of the contrast this golden-yellow grass offers.
