Pseudobombax and other caudiciform plants are the sculptures of the plant world. As they grow and mature, no two will look alike with their thick, swollen, woody bases and trunks taking on completely unique shapes. Even Michelangelo himself would be jealous of the natural artistry and form these caudex take over time.

These caudex plants are native to the humid, southern regions of Mexico and Central America where they easily reach a staggering 60 feet tall. Its form factor provides year-round interest and intrigue, but the real show happens with their flowers. Sprays of stringy, fiber-optic, deep pink or white blooms burst forth from the branches, helping the plant earn its common name of "shaving brush plant."
