This classic ball-type dahlia produces flawlessly rounded, honeycomb-like spheres packed with tightly rolled, cupped petals. Showing off a rich spectrum of warm orange, soft peach, and creamy apricot tones, 'Sylvia' glows like a pocket of warm autumn sunshine.

• LIGHT: Full sun; partial sun
  
• WATER: Water deeply and thoroughly when soil begins to dry
  
• ZONE: Zones 8–11 (In Zones 3–7, dig tubers up after the first light frost and store indoors over winter)
  
• SIZE: 3 to 4 feet tall
  
• GROOVY TIP: Feed with low-nitrogen fertilizer for rock-solid stems! Ball dahlias like 'Sylvia' produce dense, heavy flower heads on slender stems. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers that push weak, floppy green growth. Instead, boost them with a flower-friendly, low-nitrogen fertilizer (like a 5-10-10 blend) every few weeks once buds form to keep those gorgeous orange spheres standing strong and upright through summer breezes!
