An award-winning vintage legend that has been dominating gardens for decades, this colossal dinnerplate dahlia lives up to its iconic name! 'Kelvin Floodlight' produces gigantic 10- to 12-inch fully double blooms in a blindingly bright, saturated shade of pure canary-yellow. As the heavy, silky, slightly wavy petals unfurl, they form a massive dome of golden brilliance that catches the sunlight from blocks away.

• WATER: Water deeply and thoroughly when soil begins to dry
  
• ZONE: Zones 8–11 (In Zones 3–7, dig tubers up after the first light frost and store indoors over winter)
  
• SIZE: 3.5 to 4.5 feet
  
• GROOVY TIP: To protect those massive 12-inch yellow floodlights, install a strong heavy-duty stake right when you plant the tuber in spring. As the main stem grows, secure it loosely every 12 inches using soft stretch tie or garden twine. Securing the stem in multiple places gives the plant a rock-solid skeleton so those giant golden blooms can ride out windy thunderstorms without losing a single stem!
